Julius Mbaluto

Julius Mbaluto is an Award Winning International Journalist. For the last 10 years, he has been a Journalism student mentor at City University in London where he studied Broadcast Journalism. He has mentored many Journalists currently working in many television channels. He won the Mentor of the year award at City University in 2024. He started his career as a Broadcast Journalist at Carlton Television in the UK based in Birmingham. He later worked for BBC World Service based in London, reporting, Presenting and Producing news.

Mr Mbaluto has interviewed prominent personalities, presidents, prime ministers, many celebrities and many people from all walks of life. In 2024, King Charles visited Colourful Radio where Julius was a radio host for the popular "Africa in Focus Show" Mbaluto has also produced and presented documentaries for BBC African Productions.

His work was mainly aired on BBC Network Africa, BBC Focus on Africa, BBC African Productions and as well BBC Swahili. At BBC South East, Julius worked at the Current Affairs department researching and assisting in the production of "Inside Out" and at BBC Manchester -he worked for Features and Current Affairs department. Mr Mbaluto was a television host for "News Punch" live from London and aired globally on BEN TV satellite Channel. While working for OBE TV, he produced and presented documentaries like, "Pictures Speak Black History" At ABN TV, Julius produced and presented more documentaries like "Get checked" a documentary in which UK's World Champion in Hurdles Colin Jackson revealed how his family was affected by Prostate Cancer.

Mr Mbaluto is also widely published. He was a London Correspondent for the following Newspapers in different times, Daily Nation, The Standard and The Star. He has also been a Correspondent for the World Watch Monitor. As a Global Analyst on topical issues, Julius Mbaluto has been featured on many global tv channels, BBC, Sky News, Arise News, Press TV, PTV World, KTN TV, KBC TV, Vox Africa TV, ZBC and many others. Prior to embarking on Journalism, Mbaluto was a screen writer and screen actor. He was featured on Kenyan soaps, Theatre Special, Play of the week, Swahili Comedy Mahoka, English Detective series "Eagle, Swahili Detective series Tahamaki and several others.
