RUTH Kirima- BARRY

Mrs Kirima-Barry, an alumna of Kings College, UK, Regent's College, UK, Westminster College and CASS Business School at City University, UK, where she was alumnae President of real-estate for several years. She also studied Business Development at Westminster College, UK.

She is a director of Kirima Group Ltd, executive board member of Kirima Ltd, director of Alpha-Pesa, an executive committee member of the Kenya Diaspora Association(KDA), executive committee member of KDA women’s association, partner at FESTAC Africa and board member of One Map Africa. She is also Company Secretary for Cornerstone International Ltd and has been extensively involved in the property and real-estate markets in both Kenya & the UK.

She is the first person of African heritage to sit on the committee of the Lansdowne Club, Mayfair, UK, and initiated working with their reciprocal international clubs including the Muthiaga Country Club. As a dedicated member, she set up the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion sub-committee as a platform to integrate various cultures in the organisation.

Mrs Kirima-Barry is a passionate diasporan and active member of the Kenya Society in the UK. She initiated the diaspora student support program at the Kenya Society, including mentoring and education partnerships, joined by her fellow committee member, Celeste Shirvani. While living in London, she was deputy chair of the Kenya Society. She has set up an African education partnership working with various universities to build a platform for African Ivy League and Oxbridge Alumnae. She is also founder member and chair of Conservative Friends of East Africa in the UK.
